Charles W. Titone, M.D. is Board certified in Ophthalmology, licensed in North Carolina, New York and Florida. Dr Titone attended Howard University College of Medicine as one of handful of 6 year BSMD students and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1984. He is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. In January 2026 Dr. Titone will join ECU Ophthalmology and be a Principal educator in the new Residency program training new Ophthalmologists.

Dr. Titone has been a practicing Ophthalmologist for over 37 years with expertise in Refractive Correction Procedures and Cataract surgery and over 26 years with Laser refractive procedures. He performs no-stitch; small incision; no injection cataract surgery using the latest technology. Dr Titone is certified to use Tecnis Symfony®, Technis Symfony® Toric, Technis Multifocal, Acrysof Cleareon Vivity ®,Acrysof Clareon Panoptiox® Acrysof Clareon® Toric , and The new Lenstec multifocal Clearview® lenses to restore distance and reading vision. Acrysof Toric  Vivity® and Panoptix® lenses correct Astigmatism along with correcting your near or farsightedness. We also perfrom microsugical (MIGS) proceedures  using the Istent inject to treat glaucoma. 

Dr Titone has experience with refractive and medical laser procedures. He is one of the few Ophthalmologists certified to use the new Visx iDesign system for LASIK and PRK. He also uses laser to treat Floaters with the only laser designed for this the Ellex SuperQ Yag and is one of a handful of doctors in the US performing this procedure. We also perform many laser procedures to treat glaucoma reducing or eliminating need for Drops.

Dr Titone is  trained by STAAR for the Visian® Intraocular Contact Lens (ICL) procedure, used to correct nearsightedness of patients who were previously not candidates for other forms of refractive surgery.7
